CTRL+ALT+ZINE is a fashion magazine designed in a cookbook format, serving as a guide to early Y2K fashion trends. The project distills key trends of the era into six distinct looks, each representing a unique aspect of the time while highlighting the resurgence of these styles in contemporary fashion. My contributions to the project focused on styling and sourcing clothing, photographing the looks, and designing graphic elements for the final magazine.

My Role
I contributed to the magazine’s visual storytelling through styling, photography, design, and creative direction:
Styling: Sourced outfits for three features, blending nostalgic and conceptual themes.
Photography: Directed and shot editorials aligned with storyboards and moodboards.
Graphic Design: Created custom typography and layouts, especially for “As Seen on TV” and “Fashion in the Age of Collapse.”
Creative Direction: Developed the concept and visual tone for the “Middle School” spread, including clothing selection.
What I learned
Creating CTRL+ALT+ZINE taught me how to bring a full editorial magazine to life—from concept to execution:
Building a cohesive visual narrative across spreads
Importance of pre-production (moodboarding, sourcing, planning)
Maintaining visual consistency while leaving room for experimentation
Using Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator for editorial design
Designing with storytelling and reader experience in mind
